Summary 

The Belladonne family has had it rough for the last couple of years. After the patriarch of the family passes away and their wealth with him, they are forced to move to a little cottage in Morrowhill. 

Fortunately, they might have the chance to gain back what was lost. At least that's what the letter in the mysterious box says. 

And all they have to do is play a game.

Gameplay

A Game of Three Princes is a Visual Novel with Point-and-click elements.

 To progress through the story you will have to complete several tasks given to you by your step-sisters and the mysterious box. 

With the help of your magic wand, you can navigate through the cottage collecting the necessary items within each room you enter. When the wand sparkles, you can click on whatever item you're hovering on whether it be a door, item or person. 

Controls *Important*

For the benefit of using the majority of the screen, this game doesn't have the same format as many visual novels, so it's essential that you read this next part. That's why Everything's so bold now!

Menu / Save / Load / Volume / Scroll Speed / Quit to Main

To save and load or adjust other settings with the visual novel you Right Click. This summons the drop-down menu and pauses the game. Once you've made whatever adjustments you need to make you can Right Click again and the menu will disappear and your game will be unpaused.

History 

To open and close history, toggle the H Key. The history part of the game is still a work in progress so there might be a few issues with time and date. Sowee 👉👈.

Navigation

When tasked with collecting items, you will be able to turn the camera either left or right to view the room, (similar to Sucker for Love and Sucker for Love 2). There are two ways of doing this:

1. Place the wand at either side of the screen until it turns yellow then hold down Left Click. Eg. If you want to turn left you take the wand to the left side of the screen and hold down Left Click.
2. You can use the Left and Right Arrow keys to move left and right.

To move from one room to another Click on doors and archways when the wand glows. 

Item Collecting

Each task will require you to collect an item. These items will be floating at the bottom of the screen so you know what needs to be collected. 

Find the items by entering into different rooms and hovering over areas of interest. Some items will be already on display while others might be inside wardrobes and cupboards. 

Whenever the wand sparkles it means you're hovering over something of interest for your task so click it!

Skip Tasks

Because I'm unsure of how simple each task will be, I've provided a way for you to bail at any given task. All you have to do is press the Q Key when the task begins and you'll be taken to the next part of the story. 

Final Thoughts

The game is a taster for the sorts of games I intend to make in the future. It takes place in the world of a bigger project that I've been working on called Glassheart, which is a mashup of different fairytales with a grim twist. 

I'm also planning on creating a more fleshed-out version of this game with more characters, tasks and customisation so consider this the beta.
